In January 2021, the Cork Institute of Technology and the Tralee Institute of Technology merged to form Munster Technological University (MTU), a public university. Located in Munster, in the southwest of Ireland, MTU is the newest technological university in Ireland. MTU employs 2,000 people and serves over 18,000 students across its six campuses in the counties of Cork and Kerry.

Munster Technological University charges an annual tuition fee for its bachelor's program. This is the cost for every third-level student enrolled full-time. International students at MTU pay an annual tuition fee of 12,000 euros for undergraduate programs at all academic levels. Tuition for Munster Technological University's (MTU) Bachelor's program is waived for a variety of undergraduate students enrolled in publicly funded third-level programs. Instead, the publicly-owned agencies will reimburse the institution for these modifications in accordance with the regulations of the free tuition fees ambition.

Postgraduate Fee

A master's degree at MTU costs about 12,000 euros, including 7 euros for travel expenses. As part of the MTU tuition, students enrolled in two-year master's programs must pay the fee twice. Those who wish to extend their time to complete their education must pay 757 EUR for the first year and 120 EUR for each additional year after that.     Intakes 

    Similar to other universities, MTU has its main intake in September. The previous year is when applications for the September intake opened. In Ireland, there is no application fee for MTU, but before applying, you must confirm your eligibility. September intake for MTU offers bachelor's, master's, higher certificate, and higher diploma programs.

    Admission Process

    Students apply for the shortlisted course and provide the necessary paperwork. Students at Munster Technical University are only able to apply to one course per application. Education records, identity documentation, English language proficiency scorecard, resume, and SOP are needed to apply to MTU.

There isn't a separate scholarship application for students pursuing a bachelor's degree at MTU. Tuition discounts for students range from 1000 to 3500 euros. Merit-based bachelor's degree scholarships are awarded based on your academic record, certifications earned, and extracurricular activities.
