Griffith College Student Life

Griffith College is a hub for sporting and cultural events in addition to academics. There are several sporting facilities, as well as gyms. Griffith College Admission

    If a student wants to apply to any QQI-recognized undergraduate full-time program in its first year and is under 23 on January 1st of that year of entry, they must apply through the CAO. Applications for the CAO must be submitted by February 1st, with late submissions accepted through May 1st. Students may also complete a CAO "Change of Mind" form up to July 1st.

    Recognition of Prior Learning

    Applications from people who do not fit the standards for admission to a particular program are encouraged at Griffith College. Application materials that demonstrate an applicant's capacity to meet the requirements of an undergraduate course, including proof of professional, academic, and personal experience, will be taken into consideration by the admissions department. Such applicants should be given every chance to demonstrate their drive and aptitude for succeeding in their chosen course of study.

Conditions

  • The scholarship is available only to new international students who have never studied at Griffith College and will be enrolled in the Trimester 1 (March) 2024 intake.
  • Students must have accepted their offer and paid the necessary fees in order to begin a Foundation or Diploma program.
  • Past the census date, students must remain enrolled.
  • Scholarship recipients who want to start later in the trimester are not eligible.
  • Scholarship recipients who incur domestic costs are not eligible for it.
  • The scholarship package and inclusions are non-transferable and non-exchangeable; they may only be used for the above-mentioned purposes.
  • When a student enrolls in college for their second trimester, the tuition scholarship will be automatically added to their account.


Navitas Family Bursaries

Value 

The bursary is credited to the eligible student's tuition fee account each trimester, depending on the number of units completed in that trimester. It is equivalent to 10% of the tuition fee for the first attempt at units in the program of study.

Eligibility

  • When two or more students from the same family attend Griffith College, they are eligible for the Family Bursary.
  • The first family member may have previously attended any Navitas school or may be enrolled at Griffith College at the same time as the other family members.
  • The second and subsequent family members who enroll in Navitas or Griffith College classes are eligible for the family bursary.
  • They have not received a scholarship or bursary from Griffith College/Navitas in the past, nor have they had one revoked.

Conditions

  • The Navitas member institution will not pay any money to the successful recipients. Every trimester of study, the bursary's value will be noted on the student's account.
  • The bursary is not applicable to repeat or additional units that may be taken.
  • The English language program or any part of any English language program provided by Navitas member universities is not eligible for the bursary.


Academic Merit Scholarship

Value

The student who achieves the most exceptional academic accomplishments (highest GPA) in their first trimester of studies at the College, across all programs (except Foundation) and campuses, is granted the Academic Merit Scholarship at the end of each trimester.

Academic Merit Scholarship recipients are eligible for free tuition for the second trimester of study toward an Associate Degree or Diploma from Griffith College, up to a maximum of four academic courses.

The scholarship does not cover any other expenses, such as travel or supplies like books or equipment, that are necessary as part of the academic program.

Acceptability

Candidates need to:

  • Be a full-time student presently enrolled in classes toward an Associate's or Diploma from Griffith College; Have demonstrated competency in every course taken in the current program (for which the scholarship is applied) in the trimester before becoming eligible for the scholarship;
  • They did not have any unpaid payments on their student account, never having been the recipient of a Navitas scholarship or bursary, nor had one revoked.
  • Only the second semester of enrollment or the last semester of study toward an associate's or diploma program is eligible for the scholarship. If students enroll in more courses, they are responsible for paying for them.
  • The Navitas member institution will not pay any money to the successful recipients. When a student enrolls in a diploma or associate degree program, the scholarship amount will be documented on their account during the second trimester of their studies.
  • In order to keep their scholarship, recipients must continue to make excellent academic progress during their second trimester of study.
  • Under no circumstances are scholarships transferable to other students or Navitas member institutes.
  • The member institutions of Navitas reserve the right to decide not to offer all or certain scholarships in a particular year.
  • Scholarships are not retroactive.

Commencement date

Each trimester, there may be an award of up to two scholarships.

Selection criteria

  • Grades from their preceding trimester of study (GPA). If two students achieve the same academic standing, the scholarship committee will determine the winner based on the grades assigned in each course.
  • The scholarship panel may consider other factors, such as educational disadvantage, membership in a special equity group, and/or seriously adverse personal circumstances when deciding on similarly qualified applicants.
  • Result of the planned interview (if necessary)
